They may call the 12th of August the “Glorious 12th” but it’s not so glorious for everyone, and certainly not for the Red Grouse! The date marks the start of the Grouse-Shooting season in Britain, when the huntin’-shootin’-fishin’ brigade dust off their green wellies, Barbour jackets and double-barrelled shotguns and set off in their Range Rovers for the moors of northern England and Scotland to commence their annual slaughter.
I doubt whether this will affect the attendance at Thistle’s 2nd round Challenge cup tie against Peterhead as I believe that most of our above supporters would prefer to don their magnificent new pink and grey strips and head up Maryhill Road, hoping to see the Jags advance into the next round of the Challenge cup at the expense of Peterhead.
I would expect that Mr.McCall will ring the changes once again for this tie, but working with such a small pool, it is going to be difficult to get the right balance of winning the tie and resting some of our more important players.
The Peterhead team should have Bobby Mann [last of the blood and snot centre backs] playing for them, Bobby is known to all Scottish strikers as the late Bobby Mann! Other players to look out for in the Peterhead team are Martin Bavidge and their up and coming star Craig Gunn.

Should it not be Firhill Stadium rather than Firhill Park?
But good preview, better than the feeshal site’s non-existant one.

Yes you are right - should be Firhill stadium.
