Robert the Bruce sat in his small flat just off the Maryhill Road wearing his Red and Yellow Thistle strip[the Pink and Grey one was in the waash!!!] He watched a Spider spin its web It had tried 6 times before and failed.Robert roared it on “Come on wee man lets do it this time”. The wee Spider did not let him down, and on its seventh try it succeeded! Robert got the the inspiration he was looking for He had just lost the battle of Firhill on the previous Sunday and he needed something to get his blood going again and the “never give up attitude” of the Spider gave him the inspiration he needed. Now a visit to Dunfermline this Saturday holds no fear.
Partick Thistle head for East End Park, Dunfermline this Saturday and the team bus may pass Dunfermline Abbey, where it is said that the remains of Robert the Bruce, King of Scotland [March1306 to June
1329] are buried. It would do the team no harm to stop and hear the story of Bruce’s spider, it may give the team some inspiration to end the terrible record [25 years without a win] the “Jags” have at this ground
Apart from Archibald, Thistle have a full squad to pick from, and it is possible that Liam Buchanan will be on from the start.
No team news yet from Dunfermline, but it is reported that centre back Scott Wilson is out.
