JAMIE DOLAN
Former player James Dolan died today of a heart attack. Born February 22, 1969 Dolan began his playing career at Motherwell in the late 1980s where he stayed for ten years before transferring to Dundee United which he helped to reach the League Cup final in his first season. He then went to a number of clubs, Dunfermline, Livingston and Forfar, before joining Thistle in 2001 where he played a key role in our First Division Championship win which secured our promotion to the Premier League. Jamie did not stay at Firfill for the following season choosing to retire instead. He played over 30 times for Thistle and scored two goals in his period with us.
Since giving up playing at senior level Jamie was actively involved in Junior Football and was presently the boss at Broxburn Athletic.
Jamie was only thirty-nine years old and his death has come as a shock to all in Scottish Football. Our sympathies go out to his family and friends.

Jamie did remain at Firhill for at least a portion of the following season. Coaching, if I recall correctly, the under 19 team.

Thanks Tom. The great thing about Jamie was the effort he put into the game - very sad news.
