FIRHILL MUSIC COLLECTIVE

Some of you may remember a wee bit of controversy a month or so ago between the club and two - now three - Jags fans who wanted to put on some pre match music events. After discussions the difficulties with the club have been ironed out and the Collective are now ready to get into action. The first event will be held at Maryhill Juniors Social Club on Saturday October 4th and will form part of the build up to the match against Dundee. Two bands will feature: the Primary School and The Echo Session and the gig will begin just after noon with the first set starting at 12.30.

The Primary School hail from the south side of the city and “…mix back to basics old style country and good old rock n roll…” and The Echo Session a local band from the Maryhill area take their “…inspiration from 50s and 60s blues and mix it up with a bit of skiffle…”. The FM Collective are currently in talks with the club and hope to be able to have tickets for the match on sale at the event.

The idea behind the Firhill Music Collective is to offer music loving fans an alternative pre match day out and to attract new fans to come along to the football. It is hoped that this will compliment the club’s own pre-match attraction of food, beer and chat in the fans’ bar in the Aitken suite by catering to a different clientelle.

So if you do fancy a musical prematch build up why not support the club and the collective? Remember entry is free to the gigs at Lochburn Park. Contributions will be welcomed by the Firhill Music Collective and all money raised will be put back into the FMC with all profits being donated to charity.

1 Nov 2008 the ronelles and le teef

8 Nov 2008 the doledrums and the selective service
