Alba Challenge Cup Draw Thistle V Airdrie
The draw for the semi-final Alba Challenge Cup took place at 3pm this afternoon at Hampden Park with Thistle being drawn at home to Airdrie United. The date for the match has been st for the 12th of October - a Sunday. The other tie sees Morton take on Ross County at Dingwall. Hopefully Thistle will be able to progress through to our first national cup final for thirty seven years. Certainly the squad Iain McCall has put together has the capabilty to see off the challenge from Airdrie United whose predecessors he once managed. Many of you may recall that Airdrieonians ran us very close at that time with McCall’s men just missing out on the promotion that the great Lambino delivered for us. This time the magic is right with McCall and Thistle being on the same side and hopfully Iain will move nearer to delivering his first trophy for the Jags
