Jags Trust
The Jags Trust is the name of the official Partick Thistle Supporter’s Association. The name Jags Trust came after the successful save the jags campaign in 1998 when the fans helped to save the club from extinction. The name Jags Trust was chosen as the fans were given £100,000 worth of shares as their reward for the part they played in the saving of the club making them one of the four joint top shareholders in the club.
These shares were also handed to the trust to ensure that the fans would always have input into the running of the club and could help protect the club from any hostile takeover. Indeed the trust also have their own representative on the board of the club with full voting rights in order to remove once and for all the ‘them and us’ attitudes of the past. The idea was that the views and concerns of the fans could be brought into the boardroom and help to bind the club together. Over the past ten years the trust has had four board representatives:
- Maggie Forsyth
- Gordon Peden
- Willie Arthur
- Adam Bell.
