One team in Glasgow Partick Thistle

Being a far away fan can mean many losing interest in your club but not Shuggie who in late 2007 formed the Nomad PTFC Supporter’s Club. The group has been a massive success with currently around 170 members. The Nomads have been actively involved in fundraising for the club with funds going to both the Jags Trust and directly to the club through sponsorship of three player’s shirts.  In total the Nomads have raised £1,250 for the shirt sponsorship. The Jags Trust has benefited to the tune of £500 not counting other donations and purchases through the JT auctions.

Just waking up in Glasgow, as opposed to confronting the usual 200 miles to Jaggyland, set the scene for an enhanced match day experience in itself. The atmosphere in the West End was chirpy and upbeat. Some of this had clearly rubbed off on the missus as she surprisingly informed me that she would be joining me at the match, at the expense of an afternoon’s shopping in the town centre with her mother-in-law. Fair enough, although pre-match refreshments at the Strathmore is part of the match day package, something which she’d just have to deal with.
