It’s Adios Amigo to The King of Spain at to-nights game against Greenock Morton. Gerry Britton has been a fantastic servant for the Jags and must be one of the favourites for the Hall of Fame next season. Let’s make it a great send-off for the man with not only a win, but playing Spanish type football doing it.

Ian McCall has a full squad to pick from and I am sure Liam will be given a chance to keep up his great scoring record against our visitors from the Tail of the Bank.

Morton may have Ian Russell up front and the rumour is that Alan Lithgow may be a Morton player soon.

Thursday night marks the third week of our coaching sessions in the south side of Glasgow. Man of the Moment Alfred Archer has been leading the evening coaching sessions in Govanhill Park with some of the local aspiring footballers. The project focusses on bringing together young people from the different ethnic groups that make up the community of Govanhill. ‘Coach Alfie’ as he is known by the young people at the sessions has a difficult task as many of those taking part are from the Slovakian Roma community, Iraq and a number of other countries and do not have much English. Alf relies on the language of football to communicate effectively. Read More »

Ian McCall again should have a full squad to pick from and we might see newcomers Lovell and Adams at one stage in the game.

Morton has injury problems but I am sure jags fans will give a warm welcome to ex Jag James Grady Morton’s new manager.

Thistle play host to Fife neighbors Raith Rovers this Saturday and with no sign of Steve Lovell on Maryhill Road, it looks like boss McCall will go with the team that gained an honourable draw against Ross County last week.

Rovers have massive injury problems for this game with Ian Williamson and Ian Davidson definitely out and Laurie Ellis, Darren Smith and Graham Weir very doubtful; also very doubtful is “smoker” Stephen Simmons. If Stephen makes an appearance, he will receive a very warm welcome from the Jags fans who remember his antics in a cup-tie at East End Park, while playing for his former club Dunfermline Athletic.

In a week when the B.B.C has invited Mr. Griffin to speak on Question Time, we see the launch of Welcome t o show “Racism the Red Card Fortnight of Action”. Let’s hope the referee on Saturday keeps his Red card in his pocket, well  as far as the Jags are concerned anyway.

Jags travel up the A9 to Dingwall with more or less a full squad to pick from, only Paddy Boyle looks likely  to miss the game.

Players of Ross County who adorned the Red & Yellow and some who nearly have are, Scott Boyd, Paul Di Giacomo, Stuart Kettlewell and Steven Craig

As Jags fans get ready to head for Dundee on Saturday, they will be asking themselves a few questions. Will I be able to stand up at the game? Can I cheer my team on during the game? Should I take bail money with me in case I can’t!

Ian McCall should have a near full squad to pick from, McKeown and Corrigan are doubtful.

Another question on Jags fans lips is Will GGH turn it on against his favourite team. The rumour sweeping round Firhill last Saturday was that he would not be playing, supposedly, coming straight from Jocky Scotts lips. We’ll see!
